A Simple, Nourishing Oatmeal Bath to Soothe Dry Winter Skin

Oatmeal is a nutrient-rich food that can nourish your skin from the outside, too. This recipe is perfect for dry, itchy, sensitized winter skin that needs to find calm. 

  1. Grind 1 cup of plain oatmeal in your blender or food processor until fine - as close to powder as possible.
  2. Run a warm (not hot) bath and sprinkle the oatmeal into the water.
  3. Add other ingredients depending on your desires: epsom salts to soothe sore muscles or help you relax before bed, essential oils for aromatherapy, or an oil from your kitchen (olive, coconut, etc.) for additional moisture.
  4. Soak for 20-30 minutes, then rinse with warm water. Be careful when exiting the tub, as it may be more slippery than normal. If your drain becomes slow, a plunger will fix it.
