Marketing Assistant job description

Activist is looking for a highly organized, proactive marketing operations coordinator / VA to help bring structure, follow-through, and consistency to this founder-led ecommerce skincare brand.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys organizing projects, solving problems, streamlining systems, and helping good ideas actually get implemented.

This is not a content creation or high-level strategy role. I’m looking for someone execution-oriented who can reduce complexity, maintain momentum, and help operationalize marketing initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Assisting with ecommerce marketing operations and coordination.
  • Responsibly using AI tools to assist with research, drafting, organizing, and executing marketing projects.
  • Researching aligned brand partners and managing outreach, followup and gifting.
  • Maintaining spreadsheets and dashboards for partnerships, campaigns, and marketing initiatives.
  • Learning new platforms and workflows independently through tutorials, documentation, and AI tools.
  • Optional for those with a creative side: help develop new campaign ideas with the founder.

Must-have qualities:

  • Experience supporting digital marketing operations for a consumer brand.
  • Familiarity with Shopify and Shopify apps (Klaviyo, etc.)
  • Comfortable learning and using new tools independently.
  • Familiarity with affiliate/influencer marketing tools/workflows.
  • Strong interpersonal skills; comfortable nurturing relationships with creators, affiliates, and partners.
  • Interested in working for a mission-driven, sustainability-oriented, values-based brand.

Requirements:

  • 20-40 hours per month (5-10 hours per week)
  • Open to international candidates
  • Availability for weekly video calls between the hours of 10am-2pm PT (Los Angeles)
