I really love this tinted mineral sunscreen. I have fair to light skin tone and found the light to medium shade very flattering. I also have dry skin and really like the oil based texture as it didn't dry out my skin the way some mineral sunscreens can, it is a little heavy but my dry skin can handle it. I also have sensitive skin and like that this does not contain any heavy fragrance or essential oils. It did not bother my skin or eyes at all the way some other sunscreens do to my face or eyes. Perfect sunscreen for me! I really hate sunscreen so I was surprised at how much I liked this. I have dry aging skin & live in a mountain town & this moisturizing cream sunscreen works great on my skin. don't wear makeup & I thought at first that I wasn't going to like the coverage/color but after a few minutes to settle into my skin it was perfect.
I wasn’t sure what to expect when I try sunscreen, let alone, a sustainable version of tinted sunscreen! I was so surprised at how easily the sample glided on my skin and the coverage was so nice! It compares to any other tinted sunscreen as far as coverage goes. It interacted really beautifully with my skincare. I am looking forward to adding the full size to my routine.
The product is thick and oily which is not a good match for my skin. It also smells strange I’m not sure if it is a chemical smell or like clay or something. I was hoping to like it because the ingredients are cleaner but I don’t like a greasy look
Thanks for your review! It sounds like the SPF stick's matte finish may be a better match for your skin. Since all of the ingredients are plant-derived, the smell can be interpreted as somewhat earthy. This product is free of synthetic chemicals.
It goes on so smooth and I love the feel, but a couple hours of use results in streaks. Even re-applying is challenging because it doesnt help with the streaks
We appreciate you trying this product! On skin that gets oily after a few hours, the SPF cream may have a tendency to streak. The SPF stick, which has a matte finish and a thicker, more stay-put texture, would probably be a better fit for you. Thanks so much for your review.
Website was easy to navigate, shipping was prompt, and packaging was only as needed (I hate over packaging). I wish the product reviews were easier to find, I was wary at first that I couldn’t find specific product reviews. There was a place to click on reviews by the product name but it just took me further down the page and still no reviews.
I was SO happy to find Activist's non-nano tinted sunscreens. I hope you continue to always be non-nano, since I avoid nanoparticles in my skincare products. I do wish there was a sunscreen color in between the Medium and Light colors. I'm very fair, but the Light color seems slightly lighter than what I need, whereas Medium is slightly darker - so I tend to switch over between these two. But overall, I'm very happy with this product. I also love that you avoid packaging this in plastic - thank you!!!
Looks great on my skin. People compliment my skin. I don't enjoy makeup or sunscreen on my skin but this compliment my skin and it's cleaner product. I highly recommend!
I wish they worked better for me. I spf and face cleaners were a little too greasy for my skin.
Thanks for your review! The SPF stick is less oily than the cream, I would recommend trying a sample to see if that may be a better fit for you. Also, the cleansers are oil-based but if you start with dry hands and dry face, you'll end up with a non-greasy, hydrated and dewy finish with no disruption of your barrier. I hope this helps!
The sun screen was very heavy and extremely greasy feeling. Although it's tinted I had to put makeup over it to get a light coverage. I found the smell extremely strong and very off putting.
Thank you for trying the cream! I'd love to suggest that you consider trying the SPF stick (we have samples available). The cream has some oils to help it spread smoothly and moisturize your skin, while the stick is a much drier texture. It's a nice finish on top of a face oil, moisturizer or naturally oily skin.
Activist's mineral-based sunscreen lotion has a lot of sustainability cred and is tinted to further protect against ageing. Unfortunately, it is quite greasy. I won't be reordering it.
Thank you for giving it a try! You may want to try the SPF stick instead of the cream. It's not greasy, and works really well on top of a face oil, moisturizer or naturally oily skin.
This is my moisturizer, sunscreen, and make up in one. You can really use a quarter teaspoon and it melts into the skin and dries down to be a satin finish. The color is perfect for olive skin tones. It isn’t orange or pink. I have the medium, but I’ll probably use the light in the winter. The ingredients are perfect, so clean! It said it was for ingredient snobs and it definitely passes with me. The coverage is light, but perfect. It doesn’t settle anywhere and everything just looks better. I actually feel really pretty wearing this! Don’t change a thing.
I love this tinted sunscreen. It does stain, but it is easy to come off with a tide stick. Just be careful with white and light colored clothing. As a light skin black person, this works well for me👍🏽
I was looking forward to finding the BEST CLEANEST skin tint but my skin did not like this one. Right after putting it on my skin began to ITCH and I itched all day. I was out so I couldn’t wash it off or do anything about it so I just itched all day long. No visible skin reaction but I couldn’t stand the horrible feeling. Also I just looked like an oily mess.

I like this sunscreen but the scent is celery like. I hate celery full stop so I have to remind myself that the sunscreen is necessary…smell and all.

Oh my gosh the mineral sunscreen stick is perfect to carry around at the beach. You don’t have to worry about it getting damaged plus it covers up spots on my face at the same time as the sun protection. The color works for my skin, and my daughter, who is a little lighter since in the summer. Her face gets a little tan because she is snow white

I looked up and down for a product that is better for my health and healthier for my skin. I love that it doesn’t dry like foundation and it helps my skin look healthy and dewey. I haven’t broken out and my skin is sensitive, so I am very happy about that. I wish pricing was affordable so I could purchase other products, but it’s on the pricier side, but it’s expected probably because of the healthier ingredients. As of now I love the sunscreen.
This is the best tinted mineral sunblock I have tried. I wish it came in a few more shades though. Like one between the second and third lightest colors
Approved by apps that scan products for healthfulness and earth friendliness (Bobby Approved, Yuka). A little goes a long way. I find it great for my face and it works well with my regular makeup regimen. I use it like a foundation, but I’m no makeup expert. But it works great for me! It’s not as good for whole body but it’s a very good product and I will reorder. I’d like it better if I got more for my money, BUT I appreciate the pure ingredients and the price is comparable to foundations with sun protection. Yes, I recommend this product. I haven’t had a sunburn and I was swimming in the ocean for five days in the middle of the summer.
Leaves a grey cast on my face. Do not buy if you have a dark skin tones. Even the darkest shade still looks grey.
