With three different cleanser options, two different serums, and more, you can customize your own Activist Method to your needs.

We offer three cleansers to meet the needs of all different types of skin.

For those with oily or acne-prone skin, we recommend Botanical Cleansing Oil.

For those with normal or combination skin, we recommend Sea to Skin Cleansing Gel.

For those with sensitive or dry skin, we recommend Deep Moisture Cleansing Balm.

We strongly believe that our plastic refill pouches are better for the planet than recycling glass bottles for one very important reason: the climate.

Glass is very heavy compared to plastic, so every mile it travels, it burns more fossil fuels.

And recycled bottles travel a lot: from the manufacturer overseas, to their US-based warehouse, to the screen-printing shop for labeling, to us for filling, to you for enjoying, and back to the recycling and manufacturing facilities on the other side of the planet. And that's just one cycle.

When you keep and refill a bottle, it only has to make once cycle. Plus, all the non-recyclable pumps, droppers, and lids get reused, too.

That all adds up to a huge emissions reduction. Refilling at home eliminates the emissions of driving to a physical location for a refill, too.

And even though there's an itty bitty amount of plastic in our pouches, it's actually less than the amount of plastic in a pump that normally gets tossed.

Now, for the icing on the cake: you can reuse the pouches (germinate seeds in 'em, for one idea!) or recycle them with TerraCycle.

Some of our products do and some of them don't. We intentionally designed the Activist line to offer options for those who enjoy essential oils and those who prefer to avoid them.

Products with essential oils:

Where needed, we do use preservatives. (Products that don't come into contact with water, like our face oil, don't need a preservative.)

We use eco-safe preservatives that are rated 1 by the Environmental Working Group for safety to our bodies and environment. Learn more about the preservatives we use

Orders & shipping

Subscriptions are awesome for saving time and money.

You'll receive your products in a gorgeous glass bottle, which you'll keep and refill when empty. (Refilling is way better than recycling.)

You can choose whatever schedule works for you, and you can change, skip, or cancel anytime through your account.

There's no catch; we just want to keep your skin and our planet happy using the least amount of resources possible...including your time :)

Subscription orders always ship free. When offered, free standard shipping is available for other eligible orders shipping within the United States. We ship via USPS First Class Package. This service comes with a tracking number that you will be able to check on your order status page.

Expedited shipping and other options are also available for a charge, which you can see at checkout. In the case of a return, we will deduct the cost we paid for shipping from your refund.

International shipping is available at the rates you see during checkout.

We strive to process and ship your order within 2 business days, but please keep in mind that because we're a small business, we can get backed up during the holidays and other busy times.

If you're ordering a custom serum, please allow 5 business days for us to assess your skin type, create your custom formulation, and process your order before we ship your order.

Once your order ships, you'll receive an email notification that contains a tracking number. Please allow 24-48 hours for the link to show tracking information, which only loads after the package is scanned by the post office.

You can also check your account for a status update.

We are based in California and ship all over the world.

Typically the lowest cost international shipping is through the US Postal Service, which will hand off your package to your local postal service for final delivery. Complete tracking information is not usually available with this service and unfortunately we can't offer assistance if you select this option, because we have no visibility into the location of your package. 

We also offer other shipping options with faster delivery and better tracking information. DHL is a popular option. Please explore all the options at checkout to find the right balance of speed, tracking and cost that is best for you.

International orders may be subject to additional costs, including taxes, duties and brokerage fees. Unfortunately we're not able to calculate these ahead of time for you, and you are responsible for any applicable charges. Your package may be held at customs or a postal office until you pay the taxes, duties and/or brokerage fees. This is at the discretion of the local authorities and/or carrier, and beyond our control.

The easiest thing to do is hit the "reply" button on your order confirmation or shipping confirmation email and tell us what's wrong.

We will personally take care of you and ensure you get what you need.

Please contact us within two weeks (14 calendar days) of the expected delivery date of your package, based on the tracking number, to report a lost or damaged package.

We are not responsible for loss or damage to items occurring after delivery by the carrier to you, such as porch theft. If you are uncertain that your package will be safe, please request the "signature required" option on your order.

If we made a mistake with your order, just let us know and we'll make it right.

If you're not sure if you will like a product, please try samples first.

Otherwise, due to the nature of our artisanal skincare products, we handle return requests on a case-by-case basis.

If we determine that a return is needed, we'll provide a shipping label and issue a refund less shipping costs. Original shipping costs, including our cost to offer you "free shipping," will be deducted from your refund — unless, of course, it was our mistake.
